Today’s tip of the day is as follows..

If like me you like pickled gherkins and have wanted to re-use the pickle vinegar when you have finished the original contents the question of what to replace the gherkins with comes up.

I tried radishes and although they are pickled they do lose their red skin colour and also they taste of gherkins – believe it or not – So don’t use radishes!

Has anyone had any success with re-using the gherkin pickle??
