I have been invited to write a post to shout about the Magshop Christmas Competition, giving anyone subscribing or renewing their subscription to any of the Magshop magazines the chance to win the ultimate Australian Adventure, worth over $185,000.

The prize is an Airstream 762 “International Series” trailer and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to tow it with, and those of you who know what I’ve been up to recently will understand why I jumped at the chance to help them promote this brilliant prize giveaway. This happens to be the very same Airstream trailer that I saw when at Bathurst the weekend my girlfriend became my fiancée.

It Suits Me Don't You Think?!

Having been lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Airstream trailer while at Bathurst, it was great to get the opportunity when I met with the guys from Magshop, to see the Airstream and the Jeep and experience all of the mod-cons they both have firsthand. Now, I’m no stranger to camping – the Fast Lane Family and I like to get away to the wilds of Australia at least a couple of times a year. And I’d be delighted to have both of these babies at my disposal for our next adventure. FastLaneMom has been hinting that she wouldn’t mind a spot of ‘Glamping’ for our next trip. I’m not sure the budget will stretch to an Airstream… they might let me borrow one though… nudge, nudge! 😉

A magazine subscription is such a great present for someone or as a treat for myself as it just keeps on giving, and having grown up in the 80’s and 90’s there was always a magazine or 12 around the house. I still like to have 1 or 2 now as it reminds me of a bygone age where we had these shiny, glossy magazines that gave us more than just a reading pleasure in this ever increasingly digital world that we inhabit.

I remember my first magazine subscription and the anticipation that greeted the postman as he posted my copy of the latest motor racing magazine that my mum had bought me for Christmas that year. In the UK most of the time the post boxes are attached to the front door, so you can sit in the comfort of your own home eating breakfast thinking about who had won what race at Silverstone last week. I probably should have been thinking about school really but the anticipation of my magazine dropping through the letterbox at any moment polarised my whole world.

Having had a look through some of the titles Magshop have at their disposal, it’s easy to find something for everyone. I know that the FastKids would love Scientriffic which is a CISRO publication that tells you all about… well Science! And as for FastLaneMummy, I’m sure that she’d love 4×4 Australia, or is that just me…
