The Dad’s Guide for Keeping Fit on the Go
When you become a dad, life is no longer about you; it’s about the wellbeing and happiness of the little person(s) that has come into your life. And although your kids are not something you would change anything in the world for, it’s very easy to start forgetting about looking after yourself… particularly when it comes to your health and fitness.

If you’re a mum or dad that’s constantly on the go, finding even five minutes to exercise can feel near impossible. Below are my Top 3 Tips to keeping fit and healthy as a parent, even the ones with the busiest schedules! Now i’m not a health professional but I have talked to a few and been to see a few more about what’s good and what I should look to do first when trying to make the right choices about my health.
The first step to feeling fit and healthy actually starts with your diet; however, as a busy dad it’s hard to make sure your eating habits are on par with the fitness levels you want to achieve. Incorporating yourself into your child’s fitness regime can actually work both ways – try bringing your kids into your routine. Skipping, hula-hoops and trampolines are all great kid’s activities that are actually fantastic exercise ideas for adults too. As is setting up a circuit that includes things like star jumps and walking lunges. You can make the routine as fun as you like so your kids will want to get involved with you. Another sneaky way to get a few more minutes of exercise in is to take your runners to work with you and go for a brief 20 minute walk or jog in your lunch break.
